Rolwaling Trek

This region lies between LANGTANG range and EVEREST range and the side of both MOUNT LANGTANG and MOUNT EVEREST are the highlights of this trek. The trekkers will be rewarded with the enchanting view of Majestic Mountain GAURI SHANKER. The route is near by the tibet border side so that one can understand a little about Tibetan culture too. This area is mostly used by Buddhist people However, we can also see the Brahmin, Chhetri, Tamang and Sherpa villages and theirs life style. The trek to this region starts from Dolakha, a small township near Charikot, an 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. The trail following the course of RIVER TAMAKOSHI on the way to Simigaun adds more thrills to the trek. The option of crossing Tashi lapcha pass (5755m.) to go to Namche Bazar of Everest region is an adventure of its own kind. In this trail the Glacial Lake Tsho Rolpa offers the experience of lifetime.

Itinerary of Rolwaling Trek in Detail

Day 01 : Trisuli- Salangkhu Khola
We drive to Trisuli in the morning and have lunch near the Trisuli Electricity dam. After lunch we walk for about 3 hours to Salangkhu Khola and camp.

Ganesh HimalDay 02 : Salangkhu Khola- Balche village
An easy walk and then a short climb takes us to Kalawale village for lunch. After lunch we proceed to the big Tamang village of Balche for our overnight camp.

Day 03 : Balche village- Gonga
We take an easy walk from Balche village through a forest and camp with peak of Langtang lirung and Gosainkunda in good view.

Day 04 : Gonga (acclimatization rest at Gonga)

Day 05 : Gonga- Singla
We walk through rhododendom forest to camp either at Rupchet, a title pasture, or up on the singla Pass (4600) the singla pass offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung,Ganesh Himal,Boudha Him Peak, Him chuli, Machhapuchare, Annapurna south and Annapurna II.

Day 06 : Singla- Serthung village
We walk down through pine and rhondondendon forest to the tamang village of serthung and set up camp with goo9d views of mountains all around.

Day 07 : Serthung village- Laba
A sort flat trail and then gradual descent passing through Barang village and then crossing the ankhukhola take us to laba a big Tamang village.

Ganesh HimalDay 08 : Laba- Mongeythanti
We climb gently over a hill and then descend through forests to camp at Mongeythanti.

Day 09 : Mongeythanti- Dumchet village
A gradual walk down to our camp at Dumchet village.

Day 10 : Dumchet village- Budigandaki
We take gradual walk today to Basari and camp near the Budigandaki river

Day 11 : Budigandaki- Arughat
We walk along the bank of the Budigandaki river and stop at Arughat Bazaar for the night. There are tea shop and police station.

Day 12 : Arughat- Khanchowk
We gradually climb the Khanchowk Danda crossing the Mukti Khola and camp for the night

Day 13 : Khanchowk- Gorkha
We cross a ridge today and walk gradually up hill to Gorkha camping near the old palace.

Day 14 : Gorkha- Kathmandu
We have a tour of Gorkha palace, the Palace of King Prithivi Narayan shah who united Nepal in 1881 AD and visit the Bazaar, before driving back to Kathmandu
