Everest Expedition from Tibet side

Mt. Everest (8848 mtr.) Roof of the world/Top of the world.

"The grandest thirty miles of the Himalaya". That was how H.W. Tilman, the great British mountaineer, described Nepal's Everest region. The highest peak in the Earth, Mount Everest stands 8848 meter/29,028 ft tall and stands 5 and ½ miles above sea level.

One does the Everest trek to see the Everest up close. To approach the world's highest mountain as closely as is possible for a trekker. To experience Everest.

But there is more to the Everest trek than just Everest. For one there are all the other beautiful snow clad peaks - Amadablam, Kwangde, Thamserku, Pumori to name just a few that emerges above the hills as you trek, and the breathtaking mountain s scenery all around deep, forested valleys with the Dudh Kosi river surging below, picturesque waterfalls, giant rhododendrons in bloom (during spring and summer), the amazing shapes and the shades of the mountains beyond the tree line, awesome, somber glaciers.

Tenzin Norgay Sherpa(Nepal) and Sir Edmund Hillay (New Zealand) were the first climbers of the Everest, via the South East Ridge route on the 29th May 1953. In 1975 the first woman ever Ms. Junko Tabei (Japan) summitted via the South East Ridge.
