Climbing Tent Peak Tharpu Chuli |

This outstanding trek includes fascinating
trekking trail along an ascent to Tent peak
[5663m.], also known as Tharpu Chuli. Tent
peak is second most climbed trekking peak in
Nepal after Island peak in Khumbu region.
Other major highlight of the trip is
exclusive exploration of Annapurna
sanctuary. The summit of Tent peak offers a
stunning 360 degrees panoramic view of the
surrounding Annapurna massif. The trek
starts from Phedi after a 45 minute drive
from Pokhara. Further on. The trail takes us
to the Annapurna Sanctuary, the most
spectacular high mountain amphitheatre,
through charming Gurung villages and
rhododendron forests.
During our trekking venture, we witness a
variety of landscapes sprawling across
sub-tropical forest, terraced rice paddies,
pleasant ridges, grassy farmland and forests
of bamboo and rhododendron. On our return
from the Sanctuary, the trail follows an
alternative route, turning westwards to
follow a high ridge which eventually leads
to Ghorepani and the Kali Gandaki Valley.
From Poon Hill above Ghorepani, we
experience the breathtaking views of
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges before
heading back to Pokhara on the shores of
Phewa Tal. Finally, we take a flight from
Pokhara to Kathmandu.
This trip is tailor made for any one who is
physically fit and has adventure spirit.
After proper acclimatization, this trip can
be undertaken at any time of the year except
monsoon [July & August].

Days 01 :
Arrival in Kathmandu
Flying to Kathmandu along the northern border of
Nepal on a clear day is in itself an exciting and
memorable experience as exotic panoramic view of
snow-capped Annapurna mountain range peaks sprawls
before you. The Nepali support team will meet you at
the airport and escort you to your hotel. |
Days 02 :
Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu, being a historical and cultural heart of
Nepal, is a popular destination for tourists,
trekkers and adventure seekers. The city presents a
wonderful mixture of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and
Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur
are its two major neighboring cities which bear
immense historical, cultural and religious
significance. There will be a half day guided tour
to the famous & biggest Hindu shrine PASUPATHINATH,
the largest Buddhist stupa in town BOUDHANATH, the
15th century palace of 55 windows and SOYAMBHUNATH.
In the evening, a trip orientation meeting will be
organized. |
Days 03 :
Flight to Pokhara & Trek to Dhampus [1700m]
Our trip starts with 45-minute flight from Kathmandu
to Pokhara. During the flight, we will be
sightseeing the most magnificent and sensational
view of Himalayan range. As the flight lands on
Pokhara, we will be mesmerized by the irresistible
visual treat of Manaslu and other enchanting
Himalayan peaks of Nepal. In Pokhara, A bus will
take us to Phedi. From there onwards begins our
trekking in Annapurna mountain range. As we climb
uphill, we bask in the splendor of nature and the
trails become more adventurous. Finally, after
walking for 3 hours, we encounter several roadside
teashops and at last the trail leads to the Gurung
village of Dhampus. Here concludes our trip of the
day. |
Days 04 :
Trek to Landrung [1550m]
The trail narrows as it skirts round a ridge snout.
On proceeding further, we pass through Pothana and
reach Deorali. At this point, we find ourselves high
up on the East side of the Modi Khola cascading down
Himalayan peaks of Nepal surrounded by complete
ambience of nature. We continue trekking for four
hours until we reach picturesque Gurung settlement
of Landrung. Spectacular views of Annapurna South
and Hiunchuli instill more zest and excitement into
our adventure spirit. |
Days 05 :
Trek to Chomrong [2040m]
From Landrung, we march along the mountain path of
stone steps, pass through a hamlet, cross a
suspension bridge and then we come across dense
forest of bamboo. Finding oneself in complete
isolation amidst the serenity of nature can be quite
an experience. Our trek does not stop here. After
trekking for a while, we approach teahouses at Jhinu
where we rest and enjoy a drink or snacks.
Thereafter, we resume the trek to the north,
descending Daaulu and after having walked for five
hours we reach Chomrong. From Chomrong, we can have
prominent and mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhare.
There are many chalet-style wooden lodges at
Chomrong where we can get accommodation and food. |
Days 06 :
Trek to Himalaya hotel [2680m]
Crossing Chomrong Khola, we continue trekking along
steep stone steps. The trail passes by
rhododendron-covered ridge path, mountainous
terrains and forests of bamboo. As we savor
awe-inspiring views of Annapurna mountain ranges and
Machhapuchhare, we gather more energy and enthusiasm
to explore further. During our five-hour walking,
you cross Modi Khola, pass through Khuldigar, Bamboo
and Dovan and finally reach Himalaya Hotel where we
wrap up our trip of the day. |
Days 07 :
Trek to Machhapuchhare base camp [3480m]
As we climb steeply, we soon reach Hinku Cave where
we find a fire-blackened overhang being walled-in to
make a small lodge. Further ahead, the trail
transverses several ascents eventually leading to
the Sanctuary. After we pass lodges at Deurali and
Bagar, we arrive at the level and grassy moraine
platform known as Machhapuchhare Base Camp. It takes
3-4 hours of walking to reach up to base camp.
Thereafter, we set a camp site at a suitable
location. |
Days 08 :
Rest day
We spend the entire day taking complete rest,
planning for forthcoming trips and getting
accustomed to the trekking destinations amidst the
unparalled beauty of the towering peaks of Nepal. |
Days 09 :
Trek to Annapurna base camp [3900m]
We ascend gently through the tranquil meadows to get
to Annapurna Base Camp. As the trail skirts along
the steep slopes, we can view the spectacular sight
of majestic Himalayan peaks. After having trekked
for 2 hours, we reach base camp. We can now capture
fantastic views of the south face of Annapurna I. |

Days 10 :
Trek to Tent peak high camp
We follow the trail leading to Tent peak high camp.
Struggling against the glaciated mountain passes, we
finally reach our target destination. There are
other options for those who not wish to climb.
Hiking from camp can be quite pleasurable and
adventurous. Sightseeing exotic ecosystem and
breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks of Nepal can
be equally satisfying. |

Days 11 :
Ascent of Tent peak [5600m]
Early in the morning we begin our ascent of the
peak. After strenuous ascent, we finally scale the
summit of Tent Peak. From an altitude of 5600meters,
we savor mesmerizing views of Annapurna range.
Tucking this success under our belt, we return to
Annapurna Base Camp. |

Days 12 :
Spare day
We take a complete break from trekking to avoid
adverse climatic conditions. This also allows us to
rest after our strenuous trekking to enhance our
health. |
Days 13 :
Trek to Himalaya hotel [2680m]
After relaxation, we head back to Himalaya Hotel. 4
hours of walking will eventually take us back to
Himalaya Hotel. |
Days 14 :
Trek to Tadapani [2650m]
We retreat back to Chomrong and from there we take
an alternative route back to Pokhara, via Ghorepani.
We follow the trail above the cultivated fields of
potato and wheat before descending to the village of
Khumnu above the Khumnu Khola. After crossing the
river, the trail leads steeply uphill to Melanche
before continuing through rhododendron forests to
Tadapani, where we make our campsite. It takes 4-5
hours of walking to arrive at Tadapani. From our
campsite, we can capture excellent views of
Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare. |
Days 15 :
Trek to Ghorepani [2775m]
The trail zigzags along the rock-strewn path to
Banthanti. Walking past Banthanti, we proceed
further along steep trails. Nature spreads exotic
sight of majestic snow-capped mountain peaks, lush
vegetation and rich plant life before us. We climb
through rhododendron forest to Deorali [3100m] and
reach a hamlet and cultivated fields. As we continue
walking for 4 hours, we finally arrive at Ghorepani.
Ghorepani also houses lodges to provide food and
accommodation to travellers. We select a superb
location to camp for the night. |

Days 16 :
Trek to the road head & drive to Pokhara
After savoring the mesmerizing sight of Dhaulagiri,
Tukuche Peak and other Himalayan giants from the
popular vantage point of Poon Hill [3195m], we leave
Ghorepani and march ahead for Nayapul. We further
descend towards Birethanti. Birethanti lies
stretched beside the Modi River and has resourceful
town. Along the trails of stone steps, we pass
through dense forest and a small village of Ulleri.
From Ulleri, a very steep section [with 3767 steps!]
leads down to Hille on the Bhurungdi Khola. Forty
minutes beyond Birethanti, we come to the main road.
Now we can easily access any means of transportation
to drive to Pokhara. In the evening, we are free to
wander by the lakes of Pokhara. [6 hrs walking] |

Days 17 :
Flight to Kathmandu
Since we have come to an end of the trip, we take a
flight back to Kathmandu. |
|

Days 18 :
Depart Kathmandu
Our The Nepalese support team will take you to the
airport for your flight home. (Or stay longer for
short tours such as game drive at National parks,
rafting, Tibet tours, mountain biking etc). |
