This was the home of King Prithivi Naryan Shah, who fought many wars to unite the tiny kingdoms spread throughout the land now known as Nepal. His Palace can be seen on the top of the hill at Gorkha. This area is also the homeland of the original of Gorkha Warriors. The Ganesh Himal trek begins at Trishuli, a four hours drive from Kathmandu and ends at Gorkha, a six hour drive to return to Kathmandu.

The Ganesh Himal is named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune. The Ganesh Range Peaks observe the different ways of inhabitation, and come in contact with different people following various caste, creed and culture, and thereby pass through the dense forest and meadows, crossing through High Pass (3850m), View point named Lari Pass (4750 Mtr.) which offers an excellent view of the massif Ganesh Himal I (7,429m), Ganesh Himal II (7,118m), Ganesh III(7110m), Ganesh IV(7,052m), Ganesh V(6,986m), Ganesh VII(6,350m), Langtang Lirung (7,300m), Manaslu (8163m), Lamjung Himal (6800m) ranges and many more are the day to day activities of the trek. Paldor Peak stand out like crystal that is the "Great Himalayan Chain" forming the skyline. This great Himalayan massif is contained between the valley of the Buri/Budi Gandaki river in the west and Bhote Koshi River in the east, which becomes Trishuli River in the lower section. The unusual climatic and geographical mix makes this area a naturalist’s dream and a Mecca.
The first glimpse of Ganesh Himal greets all the trekkers, when you go crossing over the hills and leave Kathmandu behind. After 9 hours bus ride you arrive at the trek starting point called Syabru Besi well known trekking starting point of Langtang valley. From Syabrubesi you will have full of fun toward Ganesh Himal region passing through newly opened trekking route named “Tamang Heritage”. Just for your kind information its about 6 hours driving point called Bhalche Village, you can start your trekking to Ganesh Himal region passing through well known view point and pass – Singla Pass. There is also an alternative way to start your trekking driving 3 hours bus to Dhading Besi and vice versa.
12 Days Ganesh Himal Home stay - Camping trekking.
Day 01 : Trisuli- Salangkhu Khola
We drive to Trisuli Bazaar in the morning and have lunch near the Trisuli Electricity dam. After lunch we walk for about 3 hours to Salangkhu Khola and camp. (L,D)
Day 02 : Salangkhu Khola- Balche village
An easy walk and then a short climb takes us to Kawale village for lunch. After lunch we proceed to the big Tamang village of Balche for our overnight camp/tented camp. (B,L,D)
Day 03 : Bhalche village- Gonga
We take an easy walk from Balche village through a forest and camp with peak of Langtang lirung and Gosainkunda in good view.(B,L,D)
Day 04 : Gonga (acclimatization rest at Gonga) ove rnight in tent. (B,L,D)
Day 05 : Gonga- Singla Pass
We walk through rhododendron forest to camp either at Rupchet, a title pasture, or up on the sSngla Pass (4600) the Singla pass offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung,Ganesh Himal, Boudha Him Peak, Him chuli, Machhapuchare, Annapurna south and Annapurna II.(B,L,D)
Day 06 : Singla- Serthung village
We walk down through pine and rhododendron forest to the Tamang village of Shertung and set up camp with goo9d views of mountains all around.(B,L,D)
Day 07 : Shertung village- Lapa
A sort flat trail and then gradual descent passing through Borang village and then crossing the ankhukhola take us to Lapa a big Tamang village.(B,L,D)
Day 08 : Lapa- Mongeythanti
We climb gently over a hill and then descend through forests to camp at Mongeythanti.(B,L,D)
Day 09 : Mongeythanti- Dumchet village
A gradual walk down to our camp at Dumchet village.(B,L,D)
Day 10 : Dumchet village- Budigandaki
We take gradual walk today to Basari and camp near the Budigandaki river.(B,L,D)
Day 11 : Budigandaki- Arughat
We walk along the bank of the Budigandaki river and stop at Arughat Bazaar for the night. There are tea shop and police station.(B,L,D)
Day 12 : Arughat- Khanchowk
We gradually climb the Khanchowk Danda crossing the Mukti Khola and camp for the night(B,L,D)
Day 13 : Khanchowk- Gorkha
We cross a ridge today and walk gradually up hill to Gorkha camping near the old palace.(B,L,D)
Day 14 : Gorkha- Kathmandu
We have a tour of Gorkha palace, the Palace of King Prithivi Narayan shah who united Nepal in 1881 AD and visit the Bazaar, before driving back to Kathmandu by bus/Car. (B,L)
